Paul Barrett's 30th Birthday Cake

Yesterday Cass' husband Paul turned 30, and tonight she is having a party for him. As a surprise she asked me if I would make a cake for him in the shape of a red sports car. His favorite car right now is a Nissan GTR so I modeled it after one of them.

There was no way I could have done this by myself, so I asked Dave to help me. We started by baking 5 - 13"x9" cakes for the body of the cake yesterday. Then Dave carved it into the shape we needed. He did an awesome job!

Then we covered it with chocolate buttercream frosting, and put it in the fridge overnight.

Today we woke up and pulled the fondant we made out of the fridge to warm up. We started to "decorate" the cake at about 11:30, and finished by about 4. It was a lot of work, but I think that Paul will really enjoy his red GTR cake.

This was definitely the hardest cake I have made besides the Bella & Edward wedding cake, but it turned out better than any I have made so far =)

Cub Scout Space Rocket Derby

On Thursday the 26th we had Jordan's Cub scout Space Rocket Derby. He has been working on his rocket for a couple of weeks, and it turned out Great! He painted it to look like the Space Shuttle.

As part of the Pack meeting, the boys were each awarded pins and patches that they had earned in the last month. Jordan's Webelos Den got to visit the Observatory at the University of Utah and he earned his patch for completing that. He also got his Astronomy and Sciene belt loops, and his Science pin. We are super proud of his achievements!

Then the Space Rocket Derby was under way! Jordan sat with his friends under the strings that the rockets flew on while he waited for his turn.

He got to race his rocket 3 times. He came in first all 3 times!

Twilight DVD Release

Saturday March 21st the Twilight DVD was released. Along with Cass and other Twilighter friends, we have been planning a party for the past couple of months to celebrate this =) I had my heart set on getting the special edition that Borders was selling, and as we wanted to get back to Cass' house as soon after midnight as possible to watch all the extra stuff, I stood in line for a wristband to get the DVD as close to midnight as I could.

I got there at 5am on Friday the 20th, and was 1st in line!

This is just a sample of the great decorating Cass did for the party. The picture of Edward, I mean Rob ;), is courtesy of Amy.

This is our group at Borders just waiting for the clock to strike midnight!

First in line at Midnight!

Our group has created a blog that we use to post all things about Twilight that we want to share with eachother, and Cass was good enough to do a few posts about our party with a bunch of pictures. The first post is about the Party Before the Party (waiting in line for our wristbands), the second post is about the Twilight DVD Party, the third post is about our Wonderful Dinner, and the fourth post is about all the Super Fun Games we played. It was so much fun! I can't wait until our next Twilight inspired gathering =)

Camilla's New Bike

It has been a beautiful day outside today, so Camilla got out and practiced riding her new bike!

She is getting a lot more confident and enjoying it more and more. Soon we hope to go on family bike rides since the time has changed and the sun is up later, not to mention the fact that it is beginning to warm up more regularly.

Lucy gets a Haircut!

Great Clips was having a sale on haircuts, and I have been wanting to chop mine off... so I did! Here is the proof :)

Camilla was surprised that I didn't have long hair anymore, and Dave really likes it :) I think the girl did a great job, and it's so close to home, I think I'll go back and have her cut it regularly. Hope you all like it too!

Lucy turns 28!

My birthday is a few days before Camilla's, but now that I am a mom, it kind of pales in comparison ;) I don't mind at all though, I only get another year older each time!

I love to go to The Old Spaghetti Factory for my birthday, so we went on Saturday February 28th. We all forgot cameras, but I had my trusty cell phone camera, so here are a few pics.

Me and my fellow birthday girl :)

My Awesome 10 year old!

My very loving husband :)

My Grandma..

My brother..

and his wife Candyce.

Maya and Chloe were there too, but I didn't get any good pictures of them.
For my birthday on Monday the 2nd, I got a new bike, which I have wanted for awhile now. I am really looking forward to going on family bike rides when the weather warms up now that we all have one. It was a really good birthday :)

Camilla's 4th Birthday!

On March 5th, our little princess turned 4! I still cannot believe that the time has gone so quickly :) She got her first two wheel bike, with training wheels of course!

On Friday the 6th, we had a pool party for her at the local rec center. They have a great deal with admission for 10, pizza, soda, cups and plates, a room, and even a Happy Birthday t-shirt for Camilla! Grandma Grape (Grandma Larae), Justin, Candyce, Chloe, Maya, Cassie, Noah, Megan, Dave, Jordan and I were all in attendance.

To start the day off, I spent a good amount of time creating a Princess Aurora birthday cake. It was a lot of fun, even though it was a little stressful too! I am loving learning how to work with fondant and make such great creations.

Left to right: Noah, Camilla, Jordan and Megan.

We all ate our pizza...

Then Camilla chased Maya around a bit...

and then it was time for cake and presents!

Camilla tore open her gifts..

and then hugged them close!

Then she opened some more...

and hugged those close too!

We all sang Happy Birthday as she blew out 4 candles!

Then it was time for swimming. It's still really cold here.. in fact it has snowed twice in the last week, but the indoor pool is really nice and we all had a great time!

Camilla even made a couple of new friends :)

All in all the party was a big SPLASH!!! (Camilla coming down the slide)

Later Camilla told us that it was her best birthday EVER! Can't wait until next year ;)
