Lucy's Twilight Shrine!

Last night I was treated to a wonderful girls night out by my best friend Cassandra in honor of my upcoming birthday. She gave me some wonderful Twilight inspired gifts, the most prized of which are the beautiful red alabaster "floating heart" bookends. I saw these at the Breaking Dawn book release party at Barnes N' Noble and found out that they are made from Alabaster, found in none other than Volterra Italy. Now for those of you who aren't fans of the Twilight series, Volterra Italy is where the "Volturi" live. The Volturi are pretty much the oldest vampires, and are considered Royalty. They make the laws that the other vampires must follow, and also enforce them. Anyway, Cass inspired me to create a Twilight area with some of my favorite momentos, and I wanted to share it with everyone. Oh, and yes, I do consider myself a bit obsessed with all of this stuff, so I don't see it as wierd at all ;) Enjoy!

Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Dinner

On Thursday the 26th, Jordan's cub scout Pack had their Blue & Gold dinner, which honored the Scout organization and acted as a fundraiser for his pack. We had Sliders (hamburgers) and Rollers (hotdogs) for dinner. Jordan's den, Webelos 1, officiated the Flag ceremony, and Jordan got to carry the American Flag.

Jordan also received his Fitness pin. This is the second pin he has earned since joining the Cub scouts. The other one he has is the Craftsman pin.

After the boys recieved their badges and pins, there was a magician. The boys all loved his act. We also bought tickets at the door and entered a raffle. We won a Utah Utes pennant, which will be proudly displayed on Jordan's bedroom wall.

It seemed to be a very successful fundraiser, and we all had a great time! We are very proud of Jordan's Cub scout achievements, and he enjoys it immensely.

Valentines Day

I don't have any pictures, but I wanted to let everyone know about our Valentines Day.

The day started out like any other Saturday, me staying in bed as long as possible, and my wonderful husband bringing me coffee :) When the coffee arrived, I was told that when I felt like going into the kitchen, I would find my valentines gift. I was delighted to find a vase filled with beautiful Red, White and Pink roses, and as always, a very sweet card. Dave says that when picking out a card for me, he always looks until he finds the one that brings tears to his eyes (aww!). I got his gift ready at that point, which was a teddy bear (made from recycled plastic bags!) a bag of Starburst (his favorite candy) a new set of earphones (so he'll quit taking mine) and a card. I don't generally look for a card that makes me cry, but one that really puts into words beautifully exactly how I feel about the love of my life!

Next came a wonderful breakfast of scrambled eggs with cream cheese, green onions and bacon in them (something enjoyed in my family since I was little) bacon and biscuits. It was nearly noon by this time, so I didn't have breakfast in bed. Camilla thought that breakfast was really good, but of course couldn't wait to get back to her cartoons. Dave and I spent the rest of the day lounging and just being with eachother.

Later, Dave went to get a movie. When he came back, I was banned from the kitchen as he made dinner for me. It turned out AMAZING! We had crab legs, filet mignon wrapped with bacon, and herb roasted potatoes with sauteed asparagus. I can't think of the last time I had anything that good to eat! Camilla helped us keep the crab shells off the table, but wouldn't try any of the crab. I think it looked kind of scary to her :) Then we settled in to watch our movie "Pineapple Express" which I thought was really funny!

On a side note:
Jordan was with his Dad and Branda (stepmom) for Valentines Day. He told us on Sunday that his dad woke him up on Saturday morning and took him to the store so that he could get something for Branda for Valentines Day. I thought it was really cute that Josh waited until Jordan was with him to get Branda her present, and Jordan appreciated it too!

I hope that everyone else had an equally loving Valentines Day this year!

Hopefully I remember :) I look forward to posting pictures and random thoughts for everyone to enjoy.. hopefully you all do!
