Graduation/Spaghetti Dinner/Race For the Cure/Dave's Birthday/Mother's Day Weekend!!

May 7th-10th was the busiest 4-day weekend I can remember having in years! It kicked off with Dave's brother Aaron graduating from the University of Utah with his Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree. I was unable to attend his graduation ceremony at Kingsbury Hall on Thursday the 7th due to my work schedule, but dave was there along with a bunch of other family member to watch Aaron get his degree!

Brothers: Dave, Spencer, Aaron, Matt and Joe Crow

Family: Carolyn, Matt, Spencer, Christy, Aaron, Momma, Dave, Leah, Joe and Ray Clay

On Friday the 8th, Aaron's wife Christy threw a celebration get together at Mueller Park in Bountiful that was a lot of fun. We ate some good southern food (fried chicken, homemade mac & cheese, potato salad, baked beans, yum!) and had smores and cake for dessert.

Saturday the 9th, early in the morning, we headed into Downtown Salt Lake City to do the Susan G. Komen 13th Annual Race for the Cure. We were so blessed to have Dave's mom (hereafter referred to as Momma) with us this year as she was in town for Aaron's graduation. It's always such an amazing experience to do this walk and help raise money to fund Breast Cancer research. When Momma was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2006 she didn't have any health insurance, and non profit organizations like the Susan G. Komen foundation make it possible for women like her to recieve everything they need to recover, regardless of their ability to pay. you'll notice in the pictures that Momma is wearing a pink shirt and hat, these were worn only by Breast Cancer Survivors.

Walkers: Stefani, Lucy, Natalie, Joe, Leah, Dave, Momma, Matt, Carolyn and Griffith (in the stroller)

I am always in awe of the turnout. On a 5 lane street in downtown Salt Lake City, people filled the road for more than 3 miles!

Saturday evening was Jordan's Cub Scout Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser. This is the only fundraiser that the Boy Scout Troop 220 (a non denominational troop in Davis county) does each year, and it was a lot bigger than we could have imagined. Doing the fundraiser allows us to raise the dues for Jordan's scout membership, and also provides the boys with an opportunity to "serve" their community and help their fellow scouts. Jordan was very dedicated to his duties and showed a lot of maturity and responsibility. I was very proud to watch him work =) We sold over $100 in tickets and he had lots of family come to eat and see him at work.

Sunday the 10th was a twofer, Mother's Day and Dave's 31st Birthday. I got a Mother's Day card and then Dave took Camilla, Momma and I out to breakfast. After breakfast Dave wanted to go golfing with his brothers, and since I haven't been in a couple of years, I went too. It turned into a large group. Momma and Camilla rode in a cart and observed our play! After we were done with 9 holes, Dave and his brothers decided to go golfing some more, and Momma and I went to meet with a few more of the sisters to have dinner and see a movie. We ate at the Olive Garden and then went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic (which is a really cute funny movie!).

I was totally exhausted by the end of the weekend, but was lucky enough to have 2 more days off to recover, so I was ready to go to work again when it was time. I hope we don't have too many more super packed weekends like that coming up anytime soon, but it was a lot of fun to spend so much time with family =)
By the way, I forgot to bring my camera to any of these events, and didn't think until later that I could have used my phone =P Needless to say, I hijacked these pics from other people. So thanks to Leah, Christy, Joe and Cass for making all these great pics possible =)
